Laura & Chris's Wedding - The Barn, Tunbridge Wells
I always love returning to shoot weddings at The Barn in Tunbridge Wells and I always love working with couples like Laura and Chris! The sun shone all day for their intimate, pretty and laid-back wedding.
Laura arrived in style in a blue Morris Minor van which had been lovingly restored from a wreck by Chris and his Dad, the wedding giving them the push they needed to finally get the project finished. Laura’s beautifully elegant dress and pretty flower crown suited the chic yet relaxed vibe of the day perfectly. And I must mention her killer blue shoes! She arrived with her bridesmaid and her daughter Cherry who made the cutest and most content of flower girls. Laura really suited being a bride, she looked so comfortable and relaxed and beamed all day. (I do love a smiley bride!)
The ceremony was held in The Barn’s beautifully dressed orangery that overlooks the garden. It was important to Laura and Chris to have a relaxed and intimate wedding venue where they didn’t feel rushed and The Barn certainly ticked those boxes and more! Pub wedding venues in Kent are perfect if you’re looking for a relaxed vibe.
With the spring flowers in full bloom, Calverley Park was the perfect spot for some romantic portrait images. The rhododendrons were out and looked incredible! I was so excited, I could have stayed in the Park all day photographing Laura & Chris amongst all the beautiful flowers! They were both so relaxed and natural and I love how happy and in love they are. I especially love the image I took of Laura standing in some lavenders, which was selected for the front cover of a magazine!
The wedding breakfast was held in The Barn’s lovely oak beamed restaurant, which had been dressed prettily with white linen and little vases of flowers dotted around. After a sumptuous meal there were some very well received speeches before everybody headed back outside to soak up the late afternoon sunshine.
One of the many things I loved about Laura and Chris’s wedding was the effortless way everybody just relaxed, nothing felt rushed and this approach made the wedding flow so naturally from day to evening. A laidback, fun, elegant, family friendly wedding full of love and laughter.
