Sam & Alex's Wedding - Hadlow Manor, Tonbridge

One of the many things I love about being a wedding photographer is that I get to meet lovely people! I met Sam at quite a few wedding fairs on the lead up to her wedding, so by the time it came to her day it felt like spending time with a friend.

Sam and Alex chose Grade II listed Georgian Manor House Hadlow Manor for their intimate spring wedding. I love shooting weddings at Hadlow Manor! Georgian architecture is always a favourite as the large windows always bathe the interiors in tons of natural light. I am a recommended supplier at Hadlow Manor so returning is always a joy.

Sam looked stunning in her dress that had a beautiful full skirt that gave her a fairy-tale silhouette. And I must mention her blue shoes - they were exquisite!

Alex was really nervous before the ceremony. There was a sweet moment when his nerves made him say Sam’s name wrong. In her vows, Sam said it back to him in the same way and it made everybody laugh which really eased the tension of the moment and made everybody relax.

I loved the theme of Sam and Alex’s wedding. They went for royal blue and butterflies and Sam made the flowers herself which really stood out. In fact, Sam has since created her own wedding flowers business. So, this won’t be the last time I photograph her clever creations at a wedding!

My favourite images of the day were some I took of Sam and Alex outside in the walled garden in the afternoon. Hadlow Manor’s walled garden is the perfect backdrop for some beautiful & romantic portrait shots. I love photographing couples that laugh and smile easily and that’s exactly what Sam and Alex did all day :)

In the evening we were blessed with the most beautiful sunset, which of course took full advantage of!

Congratulations to Sam and Alex and thank you for allowing me to tell the story of your wedding day. I’ll leave the last words to them. Here’s what they had to say about working with me;

“Helen was our fabulous photographer for our wedding on 27th April 2019. Helen felt more like a friend than someone who was being paid to do a job there. She had amazing enthusiasm and even managed to get me, a reluctant model, to pose... Those photos are the best photos I have ever had of myself. I felt at ease, the posed photos were just as incredible as the candid ones. It was great to see our wedding guests relaxed - there was not a strained smile in sight! All of our family and friends had nothing but tremendous feedback on Helen and her photos and we can truly agree with them.”
