Jessica & Bradley's Wedding - The Ravenswood
Huge congratulations to the gorgeous Jessica and Bradley!
Such a beautiful day with this lovely couple, made extra special by being my first time shooting a wedding at The Ravenswood! You’d think after my sixteen years of photographing weddings that I’d have been pretty much everywhere, but I’m still discovering new and beautiful venues such as this one. The Ravenswood is a very special historic venue - it dates back to 1426! Over the generations, the buildings have gently evolved, and today they retain an enormous amount of character outside while feeling fresh and modern within thanks to recent renovations. Such a gorgeous space - romantic, timeless and flawless.
The grounds here are a photographers’ dream, and provided the perfect backdrop for romantic couples’ shots, with an abundance of greenery, whimsical gardens, pretty botanicals, a boathouse and even a magical ruin (a big thank you to Nick the videographer for letting me know about it!). I could’ve spent hours upon hours prancing around the grounds like a little photographer pixie!
Jessica and Bradley’s day was jam packed with just the right balance of fun and emotion, and the two years of careful planning was evident throughout all of the details which had been so thoughtfully put together. The flowers, the styling, the colour scheme - all of it worked so perfectly together, yet none of it contrived. They successfully achieved that effortless elegance, which is hard to do!
There was SO much love in the room on the day. You can see from the photos that Jessica and Bradley are a much-loved pair - every hug, every look, every touch on the arm shared between friends and family just oozes affection. There’s little I love more than capturing real emotion, and this couple made my day an utter joy. The dance floor played host to some pretty epic moves into the night, too!
