Hannah & Dan

Arnold Hills Hall, Penshurst

Hannah and Dan were such a brilliant couple and totally trusted me to capture their most special day. Theirs was a relaxed and rustic Autumnal wedding in early October. It was simple and intimate and packed with handmade details; the flowers were designed by Dan’s mum, the cakes were all made by Hannah’s mum and Hannah’s vintage inspired dress was made by Dan’s aunt. They even had a friend play their first dance for them. Having known Hannah and Dan before they even got engaged, I was honoured to photograph their wedding day and made to feel so welcome by their friends and family. It was an awesome day. The church at Penshurst was stunning, the light was gorgeous and the flowers were bursting with autumnal colours. I know Dan felt quite nervous about being photographed but on the day he was so consumed by the day that his nerves didn’t show at all. After the ceremony we snuck off for some intimate couple photos while the guests made their way to Penshurst Hall for tea and cake. Everyone was so happy and relaxed and the deliberately laid back approach really worked for Hannah and Dan – no rushing around, no stress, just happy smiley faces everywhere. And this always makes for the best photographs!

Helen – we knew your photos would be amazing, but these have completely blown us away! I don’t mind admitting to sobbing as we looked through your beautiful photographs. For two people who don’t like the camera, you did an incredible job of putting us at ease and the photos are stunning! I’m completely in love with the photos you took of us together after the ceremony. It was such a perfect opportunity to sneak off together before the madness of the reception, just to be together, to gather our thoughts and take it all in. Everyone commented on how wonderful you were on the day – you were right there to capture everything but at the same time you seemed to melt into the background. You completely captured the spirit of the day and the photos are so incredibly ‘us’. We’ll cherish these photos for years to come – thank you so much.
